Moscow: Arkhangelskoye

In 1995, Dr. Lyudmila Savinskaya published an inventory of the Dutch/Flemish collection of paintings. SCI has digitalized the collection and is currently working on the attributions. The research on the provenance of the art has been almost completed.

Among the art in the Arkhangelskoye Museum is a beautiful Nightlandscape by Aert van der Neer and a very important large portrait, probably of the Duchess of Orleans from the studio of Anthony van Dyck. No attention had been payed to it outside of Russia since the catalogue by Van Gluny in 1909.
